Barns is Cornish Fair theme!

Great News!  The theme of this year’s Cornish Fair is “Barns”

The Cornish Fair, held in Cornish NH is the Sullivan County Agricultural Fair. This year it will be held August 18th, 19th, and 20th.

Sullivan County Barn Quilt Trail and Adventure (organization) is in contact with the Crafts Department heads in the hope that a Barn Quilt Category will be added to the Craft categories.

If this could happen, it would go a long way to advancing the visibility and popularity of Barn Quilts in our county.

Around June 1st the Exhibitors Handbook will be released  Cornish Fair Handbook.

See what other wonderful entry categories there are, display your handwork, quilts, veggie, flowers, artwork, photography, baked goods and more in the various departments, and be sure to take a look to see if a category for Painted Barn Quilts has been added.

Paint A Barn Quilt – Another New Class offering

Painted Barn Quilts
with Linda Lacasse
Sunday, JUNE 12, 1:00 – 4:00pm (1 day)
$44 members / $50 non-members, includes materials

Join the barn quilt movement by creating your own painted quilt block.  You will begin with a pre-primed board and go through each step – drafting, taping and painting with careful attention to detail.  We will spend about 3 hours together; once painting begins, you may work at your own pace.  Depending on your design, you will leave with a finished quilt block or with paint colors (which will be provided) to add at home.  The finished product will be 2×2 feet and perfect for mounting on smaller buildings.

We have a date for the Painted Barn Quilt Class with Linda Lacasse at Main Street Arts in Saxon River Vermont.  We hope you can join us for the new class date.  Please contact me via email or phone to re-register if you are available and interested. 802-869-2960
